Is there anyway to list say the top 5 blog entries based on the comments, ie blogs with most user comments against them as index?

Bump.

Anyone know if this is possible, is coming in a new release, or anyone created a custom module to do this?

why not just make this a forum... its exactly what you are asking for...

Because I prefer the blog style and commenting.  All I am looking for is a summary lsit of the top commented blogs, not a forum based system at all.  Forums bring on a totally different style and structure from a blog.

Why not just copy the blog list control or blog control and create copies of the sprocs with changes to the queries (group & get TOP N) based on the number of comments.
Then add the controls in the module def's and add to the page.  The only difficult part here is to tie the new control to an existing blog.
