I had originally planned to allow an additional mode for comments that utilized Disqus.

+1 Disqus. Wow, I would have been super happy to see the Disqus comments as an option in blogs.

Very well said. I think I agree with you after thinking about it for a while. If I ever want people to be able to comment on my blog, I will open up registration on my site.

Thanks.

Han

Hi,

I have another question. I have "Allowed Comments" both in the blog module settings and each blog entry. When an unauthenticated user views a blog entry, I'm expecting the "Comment" button to show up at the end of the page. When the user clicks on the "Comment" button, it should take him/her to the login page (I opened up registration for my site http://chuckhan.com/Blog/tabid/94/Ent...). But right now the "Comment" button doesn't show up. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Han

Chris -

I know this topic is a few months old, but on the issue of auto-approving or turning off comment moderation I would like to ask you to consider making this configurable. While I agree with your point about why moderation is so important, I have a client with a site where the members are invite only and go through an approval process to even access most of the site. The person who updates the site and posts blogs would prefer that comments show immediately rather than some time later when they are able to log in and approve them. The Blogger role will not work here because they don't want all users to be able to post articles.

Thanks for your consideration.

Josiah
