I have a website at http://www.nigeladams.com which contains, among other things, a blog. The blog can be access through it's own page (http://nigeladams.com/Blog.aspx) on which all the Forge Blog modules are placed.

However, in order for the most recent entries to be displayed on the homepage as well I used the "Add existing module" feature and added the entries module from the blog page to the homepage. This all works just fine, except for one thing. The homepage title reads "Nigel Adams' Blog - Nigel Adams Website and Blog" when the actual page title in "Page settings" is just "Nigel Adams Website and Blog", i.e. the module is rewriting the page title.

Is there any way to avoid this?

When you are viewing a specific blog entry (thus an entryid is in the url), the page title is updated. When you are viewing a list of blog entries for a specific blog (thus a blogid is in the url) is also updated in this case. These changes were made to override the default page title set at the page level because its better SEO for the site (unique titles as you drill down the module). This is also important for other things such as Open Graph Protocol support (needed for sharing functionality). Currently, without editing the source code, there is no way to change this behavior.

Thanks for the advice, I think for this project I will have to grab the source from the Forge and make the change.

I don't know what the community things but IMO having the blog on another page where it is not the central feature, e.g. a homepage seems like a common use-case and I think it would be useful to have a setting in the module settings to control whether the page title is rewritten. Just my two cents...

Cheers.

I agree that you should also be able to have a blog summary of the most recent entries module available.

At the moment my site which relies on the blog recent entries to be displayed on the homepage is a bit screwed at the moment as its showing the full blog functionality. I also have the SEO issue on the homepage.

Looks like I may have to roll back the code which is a bit unfortunate.
