Hi there! I recently installed the latest version of the DNN Blog module and am ramping up with it. I have a requirement, however, that I'm not sure it can meet.

I need to automatically provision a blog for all current and future users of a site. If it could be done based on the users' roles, that would be preferred (e.g. everyone in role 'x' gets their own blog). Otherwise just all registered users. The blog can be under the activity feed/profile pages or on different page.

Is this possible with the DNN Blog module? If so, how can I go about doing it elegantly? I don't know if there's an accessble API under the hood or anything.

Thanks!

Phil,
The Permission Settings of the Blog module let you specify which users/roles can Create Blog(s).

Hi Mike - thank you so much for replying. Unfortunately I'm still not sure I understand how to do this. I need the process streamlined such that when a user joins the site, the system will automatically provision a blog for them, preferably under their activity feed so we can leverage the vanity urls: "http://mydnnsite.com/users/theDude/Blog." I don't want the users to have to know how to go into the module and create a blog for themselves and I certainly don't want them to have the ability to create multiple blogs for themselves. Is this doable by what you described? I may be misunderstanding something as I'm new to DNNBlog.

If it isn't possible out of the box but there's a documented API way of doing it, I'm open to that as well!

Thanks again.

Phil,
Sorry...but I don't think I can be of further assistance. Hopefully, someone else will be able to answer your questions.
