Hi to everybody on this forum,

I have a newly installed version of DNN 8.3 which has only had the DNN blog module 6.4 installed on it.

I have been able to successfully create a blog with the classic blog template and import entries from when the blog was running on DNN 7.4 with the DNN blog module 6.2.

However, when I click on copy module or I click on the Windows live writer hyperlink I get a page opening with a 403 error as below:

403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

Also, if I try to add a blog parts say a tag cloud from the main panel of the blog module when I click Add nothing happens.
Now I assume that the new version of the blog enables you to set up different parts of the blog such as the tag cloud from that main page?

However, my greatest problem is the 403 error I am getting when the module tries to access the DesktopModules/Blog/controls/# folder.

I have checked the provisions of the website folders for this and two other sites which have the DNN blog 6.2 installed on them and they are exactly the same.

Any help or ideas on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Trevor

Just an update on this problem.

It would appear there are still several bugs in the module.

Particularly when using the classic blog template and the copy module function.

What I did to get this working was use the default blog template and the add the blog module from the add module section of the control bar to the position that I preferred as usual. Then I added it twice more, once for the calendar for a list of posts made over time and then again for a tag cloud.

Then configured each for role it was to take.

Regards

Trevor
