I am a bit confused... In 3.1.1 there is a blog module. There is a blog on the DNN site that looks nothing like the module. And, there is this module that seems to be different than the included module since there is a post that it is still in development and there is no download yet.

So, how can I add a blog similar to the one on DNN?

There are a couple of blog modules right now.  The one that you can currently download from this site is a sub-module of the forums.  It gets installed when you install the forums module and is being removed in favor of the newBlog.  This NewBlog is going to be renamed blog and is currently only downloadable from the german DNN site.  It is version 3.1.0.18 or something like that and is written by Hans-Peter Schelian.

Look through the postings here for a link to his site as I can't seem to find it right now.

The "old" blog which was released as Forum/Blog is discontinued.

Have a look at this thread

There you can find the link to the actual download for NewBlog, the new blog module is not released yet.
