The server name needs to be taken out of parenthesis in this case.  I have installed about 27 websites with dotnetnuke.  I have finally run into an installation that I'm stumped on.  Running DNN on a 64bit server with SQL 2005.  Everything seems ok but I'm receiving the same error;

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

My connection string looks great.  When I use a local sql account, the error or message say the password needs to be changed.  When I use a windows domain account I get the above error.

I can connect to the sql server with odbc connections and vs2005 using the windows account, but not even close with the sql account.

If anyone has any suggestions, I welcome the feedback!

I figured it out.  SQL2005 gives different options when setting up a userid.  The 'User must change password at next login' must be turned off.
