I'm developing using Visual Web Developer Express, trying to build a custom profile editor to substitute the Profile control in the Users admin area.

As I don't want to do this without altering the users admin module, I have tried copying the Manageusers.ascx and profile.ascx to my custom module and to modify, while still pointing to the other original user module controls from within manageusers.ascx.

However, I have had problems getting this to work properly. Is there a simple way to bespoke a couple of the user controls in a custom module whilst still using the majority of the user admin controls? Or is it easier to copy the whole admin users section and bespoke it as an entire seperate module?

I have had another go at this, and the problem I am currently encountering is that my custom manageusers.ascx and other custom user modules will load (copies in a DesktopModules folder), but then the page loads up a copy of the manageusers.ascx from within the Admin.Users section. The admin/Users version of manageusers.ascx is then the one displayed on the instance of my custom module.

Is there any way around this?

I assume I must be missing out a redirect to the portal's admin/users module within the code, which is causing my problem.

Any help greatly appreciated

This may be a dumb question - but why do you feel the need to use a modified Profile control?

The client for the project I am working on requires bespoke modifications to the Profile, Users and Bulk Email sections of the Users Module. Rather than go straight in and modify the actual admin/users module (requiring a need for future maintainance to upgrade to further versions of DotNetNuke), I was attempting to modify a copy of the admin/users module.
