I just downloaded the latest Source, extracted it, and opened the solution. I tried to rebuild, but the Global.asax.vb won't build.

Any ideas on what I'm missing? Is there anyway to browse the code repository (CVS or SVN)? I didn't see it on sf.net.

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

code repository is only accessible to core team members (we use sourcegear vault )

Did you rename development.config or release.config to web.config prior to building? Microsoft thought it was a good idea to put references in web.config. By default (the install distro does though), the distro does not have a web.config, to prevent overwriting in an upgrade situation. For a new install you will need to rename either development.config or web.config....

cheers,

see:

DNN Source Installation

In the Windows file manager, open the DotNetNuke.sln file (that is in the root of the directory of the files that you unzipped) in Notepad (or any text editor).
Change the web address to the web address that your site is configured for (you have to change it in two places).

Save the file.

Double-click on the DotNetNuke.sln file to open the site in Visual Studio
The site will open up in Visual Studio
