I had the similar problem but my error is about app_code. There is NO app_subcode_xxx.dll in my Precompiled version DNN. Also I'd checked "allow this precompiled site to be updatable" and "use fixed naming and single page assemblies".

This problem only appears when I installed the new 4.4.0 DNN.
