Alan, as a use case for All Day events you need go no farther than Outlook. If you tell Outlook that an event lasts all day it does not assign it a time, it puts it to the top of the list of the rest of your events. If I look at a calendar and see 5 events, each one starting at defferent times throughout the day I would assume that the time displayed is the time the event begins and ends. If I see an "All Day" event - something without a time, I know the event takes place on that day and either has not yet had a time assigned or literally lasts all day. Holidays are a perfect example. Christmas does not start at 12:01 AM and end at 11:59PM on December 25th. It is on December 25th. The same thing could be said for any event like that, arbor day, national take you DNN developer to lunch day etc.
As for the use case on the tool tip the best example I can give is to go here:
http://www.trinityfreistadt.com/
Look at the announcements in the right pane, hover over the title and you'll get a tooltip with the summary displayed. The same thing would be great for the small calendar. Hover over a date with events and as a tooltip the list pops up.
Thanks for all of your work on this, we are really looking forward to the modules release.

Implementing an "All Day" event would require a lot of re-coding. For example the current "Month View" does not support events at the top of each cell. I have sub-classed the MS Calendar control. But this would need further modification in order to support this (top of the cell feature). Also all other views need to be updated (week view, day view, etc.), if this is a requirement.
I believe your requirement for the tooltip was for the "small calendar"...so each cell would have more than one event (not displayed). How would the tooltip be implemented...i.e. summarize all event descriptions for the day...this is not the same as your example...

Favance, just upgraded to DNN 4.4.1 from 4.4.0. Your events module worked just fine, now it says 'Module Not Available' on the page that it is on. Here is the log:

Interesting...doesn't look like a problem with the module...looks like something to do w/the virtual path and the DNN loader...no one else has reported this issue and many have loaded the module and tested in 4.4.1.
So is this a mistake: " upgraded from DNN 4.4.1 from 4.4.0"? What are you really trying to do here?

Sorry I tried to reply yesterday afternoon after I discovered what the problem was but these forums constantly produced time-out errors. The problem was with the web.config file, when I upgraded to 4.4.1, I used my old web.config file which had the buildproviders section commented out. All I had to do was uncomment that section for the events module to work. Thanks once again very much for your help. Also, I believe I said earlier "...just upgraded to DNN 4.4.1 from 4.4.0...."
Here we go again with the forums, its been about 15 minutes since I've been trying to post this and I'm still timing out :(
