Annual Event: repeat on date "31.12." (note the TWO dots) which is "12/31" in en-US locale)
then ALL events in that module instance will disappear in all calendar views! They will show again if English (US) language is selected.
If you omit the second dot (i. e. if you enter "31.12"), everything's OK!
Note: date format in Germany is "DD.MM.YYYY". If you leave out the year, you nevertheless append a second dot after the month: ("DD.MM.").

OK...I definitely don't understand this one?  How do you eliminate the second dot?  How are you setup that you do not have to enter year?  Steps to replicate?

For my setup see my last post. I you need more details please let me know.

Steps to replicate:

  1. Switch to German language.
  2. Enter some dummy events (to see them disappear later).
  3. Enter a recurring event. In "Edit Event / Event Settings / Recurring Settings", select "Annual Event" and enter in "repeat on date" a value like "2.2.". This is a text field, and you can enter whatever you want, with or without dots. It doesn't make sense to enter a year here, because I want this event to take place over several years until it's end date.
  4. Update, and all events should have vanished.
  5. Switch back to English language, and all events should show up again.

If you cannot reproduce this, you may contact me directly (you still should have my mail address).

Tomorrow I will try this on another server, and report. So long!

I am having issues with the fact that when I go to view event details on my site I lose my css design such as page background color and menu styles....

Here is Alan's take on the situation:
"I looked at your pages. The way the module currently works (similar to other DNN modules), all view pages are placed in the correct pane (ex. I assume your calendar module is placed in the DNN "Content" pane). Most DNN modules when you display any other non-view component (i.e. Edit Event), the module consumes the entire page. I consider the "Event Details" a non-view component, therefore it is implemented as a "Full View" DNN component...unlike the views (Month, Week, List).

Let's see if others agree with you on the Detail Event display being a view component instead of full-page component. It's not too late for me to implement this way...however, I just want to be sure others agree."

Ryan

I'm not quite sure about your terminology here (view / non-view components), but if this means that the Event Detail view currently uses an admin skin instead of a normal portal skin, and you'd like to see it in your portal skin, then I definitely agree! I would highly appreciate if the detail view would use (or could be configured to use) a portal skin! (Or am I completely wrong here ??!?...)

I too would really prefer the detail view to appear with other modules on the portal/tab skin rather than the administrative skin. I find that I'm using this approach more and more in my modules rather than the DNN way for all view controls - much less jarring/confusing to the user. How about simply unhinding a panel/table row containing the details directly below the calendar whenever an event is clicked upon.

Alan,

I've tried that. however, sometimes I get red text that mentions enrollment, but no link.
More often I get nothing. I've tried to reset the cache, and re-enter the event. Still no link.

Also, I tried moving the two events module off the same page, and I stil getting the module settings, that the dropdown can't have multiple selections.

As for a vote for details, I think it should be a non 'edit' control and to show the other skin modules.

Cheers,

The enrollment "red text" is the link.  The modules dropdown is a known issue (see other posts)...I have corrected this and hope to put a new beta up tonight.  I have a few other issues I need to resolve.  I will change the Details Control to be a "View" type control and display other content on the page as most recommend.  This is a fairly easy fix.  All other Edit Controls will consume the page or display without other content on the page.
