I have done both Michael's and Vladan's turorials and have learned much from all of them. Looking at LVB's version I see much more flexibility for those that have Code Smith (albeit quite pricy). Unfortunately, his v2.6 templates errored out on me (I still appreciate his efforts creating them).  I see a great potential doing it this way because I can create the Database Schema ahead of time and generate the code when my schema is built.  AcuitiModuleCreator seems to be another step in the right direction but I could not download it to test.

Check again, he released another update.

His templates create a View control that allows you to edit the records, is that what you mean? Also I have a tutorial in progress that shows you how to use Lee's templates:

It creates all the VS files needed for a DAL module, including a view control with a gridview to view the data and a settings control (optional).

Anyone here know about Bo's DAL Builder Pro (http://www.dotnetnuke.dk/Default.aspx?tabid=224)? It's a standalone Windows app for creating DNN 2/3 modules, database tables and stored procedures included. AFAIK, it was never updated for DNN 4.x modules, but it was built with a plugin architecture for adding functinalty. Of course, I don't know if the API is even available. Anyone else out there know anything about it?

At any rate, it was a good tool for DNN 2/3, and I'd love to see it support DNN 4.
