I had 4.4.1 installed on a new hosting account and the only modules added by default were HTML and Links, as expected. I had DNN4.3 on my laptop, but decided to do a fresh install of DNN4.4.1 on it. It installed fine, but the HTML and Links module are not in the drop down list to add to a page. Additionally, in Module Definition, they do not show as installed or available for install. The folders are in the DestopModules folder. What is wrong?

Also, why are Events and Gallery not showing as available for install?

When you say fresh install of DNN 4.4.1 - what did you do? Did you unzip the DNN source/application from the zip file into a new folder or use the existing copy of DNN that you might have had running before and simply point it to a new database?

If the folders are present in the DesktopModules folder then this indicates that you have used this setup in the past for another install. If this is the case then you need to make sure you copy the module files into the Install/Modules folder so that DNN knows what to install. If you look in your zip file you downloaded from DotNetNuke.com, you should find the zip files for the HTML and Links and the rest of the modules as .resources files. Copy these to your Install/Modules folder and then log in as Host. Go to the Module Definitions page and select the modules you want to install...

Did you do a new install, or did you upgrade your dnn 4.3? Did you get any errors during installation? Did you mistakenly used an install version that had already been installed once (ie. with an empty /install/module/ folder)?

> Also, why are Events and Gallery not showing as available for install?

see here: DotNetNuke 4.4.0: Where did all the modules go?
