Hi,
I am using Dotnetnuke 4.40 and I am trying to send an email.
I test the smtp settings and it works fine.
But when I send an email through a custom module, I get the error:
System.Net.Mail.SmtpFailedRecipientException: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for ...
I get this error if I specify all the parameters for smtp settings in my code.
If  I just give empty quotes for smpt parameters in  DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail method, I guess it will pick it up from Host settings? But it gives a different error now
System.InvalidOperationException: The SMTP host was not
specified.at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.CheckHostAndPort()at
System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message)at
DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail(String MailFrom, String MailTo,
String Cc, String Bcc, MailPriority Priority, String Subject, MailFormat
BodyFormat, Encoding BodyEncoding, String Body, String Attachment, String
SMTPServer, String SMTPAuthentication, String SMTPUsername, String
SMTPPassword).

I am just testing it on my local machine using the server specified in my Outlook and I have given my gmail id for host email as well as for from and To email ids. I tried both basic as well as anonymous authentication.

For Test it works fine and a confirmation is delievered to my gmail id.

I read that we need to add enable relay and I did that ,and set All except the list below and set a blank list.
But I am doubtful if this should be done on the smtp server?
How do I test it locally to check if it is working?

Thanks
