Hi,

I have just installed a fresh copy of DNN4.3 on my server and everything ran smoothly, until I went to view the site from my workstation. I cant see it. When I access it on the server, it shows the site but all the modules have an error in it. I have set it up to be the "default" website on the server and when I browse to it remotely I cant access the site. I get a

"HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services"

Two questions, if the installation was all good,

1. why cant I access it remotely. When I just had a simple html file on it as the main page it worked perfectly. Since installing DNN it doesnt work.

2. Why are there errors in the modules

I am using DNN 4.3 running on WIn 2003 with IIS 6. Any ideas? Would be a great help.

Cheers

If you are using a different method to reference the site now (http://yourip/ instead of http://localhost), you will need to ensure that a new portal alias is added for the new URL that can be used.

Can you access any of the image or other files directly from your remote PC?

Thanks Mitchell, that fixed no. 1. Any idea about no.2, as to why the modules are all showing errors? The installation went through with out a hitch and I havent tweaked any settings. Do I need to upload the modules (I thought they were part of the installation?).

Cheers

What are the errors that you see in the modules?

When you setup your web config did you specify your SQL Server information for both configuration settings.  The ones in <connectionStrings> and <appSettings>?

Hi Mitchell,

Yep, I did specify the SQL in both the settings, but still no good. The url for the site is http://202.4.48.33 (Should work after your previous instructions)

Cheers
