there has been no change in host module support - 3rd party modules still need some SQL execution to add a page to the host menu and Lists has been part of the host menu in the core framework since DNN 3.0.

The issue seems to be the following code in the Iconbar.ascx.vb file:

The Add Module link in the Control Panel gets disabled for the Admin or Host pages.

As a test, I changed the code back to what is was in 4.3.6 so it's no longer checking for the Admin pages.

I can now add modules again to the Admin and Host pages.

Does anyone know why this change was made? Some people like to add modules to the Host only pages.

Dave

If PortalSettings.ActiveTab.IsAdminTab Or IsAdminControl() Then
     cmdAddModule.Enabled = False
     imgAddModuleIcon.ImageUrl = "~/Admin/ControlPanel/images/iconbar_addmodule_bw.gif"
     cmdAddModuleIcon.Enabled = False
End If
