Hi Guys.
I am newb so be nice.
Basically I am running DNN 4.3.4 on my live site and was running them on some test sites on my local server.  Anyway, I did a full back up on my live site and practised the upgrade on my test site.  After following the doco's I made the quick changes to web.config and copied the folders over and allwent swell...site upgraded as planned.

So I've then done the same with my live site and quickly negotiated a small problem with a compression file not uploading.  Once that was all sorted, I test my site and on the page that would have ticked off the upgrade installation processes, it had a small message saying " no install needed" or something along those lines.  I clicked on install and it paused a minute before taking me back to my home page.  Alas my site is still running 4.3.4 even though I upgraded all the files in my root folder and made hte relevant changes required in web.config.

I hope I've made sense...I tried the upgrade a second time and again the site still runs 4.3.4, even though all the 4.4.1 files have been uploaded.

Anyone have any pointers.  I don't have much tech knowledge in this field but am gaining it slowly.   I am very keen to work this problem out.

Cheers

Dave

I'd start by double checking everything, make sure you copied the files into the correct directory.

Try modifying the web.config to reset the application and see if it tries to do the install the next time the app loads.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about code and site development to be messing with the code too much.  I've tried again and no change has been made.   I've been using SmartFTP and have had to unzip the upgrade to a new folder, then copying the files from there up to my server via SmartFTP.  Is it possible that this is the problem?   I cannot figure out how to get it to unzip straight onto my server.

Chris,

Could the missing DLLs be the problem?
Do we have a chance to get a fix soon?

Dave,

Did you update your production web config to the new web config for 4.4.1?

Did you copy over the "installationdate" setting from your previous installation?
