I installed DNN and everything was just fine but now i cant run it any more when i try to debug it i get a strange error  a popup with this text Cannot find http://localhost:1024/web/. Make sure the path or internetadress is correct.

Why is this happening to me???

I expect you used the internal web server (not IIS to create the site).  If so, it is possible that the port (:1024) in your situation is not the same as when you created the site.

Also if you created the site to use the internal file server - then you cannot run the site outside of Visual Studio or Visual Web Developer.

I just did a new install using the internal web server as you mention above and noticed that indeed; you can't run the site outside of Visual Studio.  Interesting.

Can you or someone point me to some help on developing with VS 2005 for an older version of DNN?  I wrote some custom modules and have a fair understanding of module development (mostly from the dnnJungle excellent tutorial using the CodeSmith templates.)  Now, I have a new, fast desktop with the latest tools: SQL 2005/VS 2005 with a fresh install of DNN 4.04.01.  I have kept my old machine at DNN 3.0.13 and use it to keep developing for DNN 3.  At one time I tried to move a module to the new machine, but saw so many errors, I quickly deleted it and never returned until now.  So, I guess my question is:  Can you write for DNN 3.0.13 in VS2005?  Can you point to any good reading on the subject?
