I'm trying to move an existing DNN site to a new box.  I've run into a general SQL Server connection problem on the new box running XP/Pro and Visual Studio 2005 Pro.

However, I installed DNN v04.04.01 from scratch to the new box with no problem,  My connection string from the install was: Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf

I have restored my v04.xx SQl 2000 database to SQL Server 2005 and can easily connect to it from VWD and Query Tool using the following connections string: Data Source=BRAD11\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=DotNetNuke;Integrated Security=True

When I change my web.config connection string to: value="Server=BRAD11\SQLEXPRESS;Database=DotNetNuke;trusted_connection=yes", I get the following connection error:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.04.01

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

This has been driving me nuts.  What should my Connection String look like?  What else have  Ioverlooked?  Your suggestions woudl be appreciated.

Thanks!  Brad

Did you get this resolved? I am having the same problem, and have no idea what to change the connection sting to.

Thanks

Gabe
