Hi everyone.

This is my first try with DNN. I already configured the files and created the database in mysql. The problem is that I run the installation and I dont get anything except for a blank page. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

By the way, this is the link : http://2xtremedisco.com/Install/install.aspx?mode=Install

Thanks.

you do need MS SQLServer (or free MS SQL Express). If you really want to run DNN with mySQL you need an additional Dataprovider - have a look at www.Snowcovered.com.

Ah, I knew there was something wrong.. Let me ask you one more question, If I host at godaddy, would DNN work there?

Currently hosting (virtual dedicated) at godaddy - yes, you can run dnn 4.4 over Visual Web Developer over SQL Express over .net 2.0.

My recommended sequence on a fresh or reprovisioned server, though is...

Immediately download Visual Web Developer from MS.  This will install latest .net 2 first, then SQL Express, Then VWD.

After which DNN installation is straightforward.
