Just installed DNN for the first time and it went fairly well. I am however having a problem when either registering a new user or adding them in whilst signed on as admin or host. The error I receive whilst registering normally on the site is:

Register is currently unavailable

Now although I receive this error, the registration takes place and the user is added to the database. Any ideas on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

Have you checked the site log to see if there are any errors?  If the registration is working, perhaps the error is occurring in a later process such as sending the email notifications.

Thanx for this Shawn. Not had a chance to check this out as my install has suddenly collapsed around itself. When I try opening the site it never opens and checking task manager reveals that the w3wp.exe service is running at a very high percentage (with the CPU always running at 100%). There is only one application pool in use with IIS but I'm unsure as to how to rectify this and I'd appreciate any advice that others can offer.

Because you said this is a new install, and you likely do not have much content entered in your site yet, I would just delete everything - the site, the database, everything, and start over.  Make sure to follow the install docs carefully.  I have seen some quirky things that a fresh install corrected.  While you may never know the issue, it often is the fastest solution.  You could end up wasting a lot of time trying to track this down.
