When attempting to view a site in Firefox the following error appears in the address field:

 “/Default.aspx?tabid=149&error=Conversion+from+string+%221.5.0.4%22+to+type+'Double'+is+not+valid.&content=0”

The problem does not occur when using Internet Explorer. Does anyone recognise the error? Can anyone offer a resolution?

Thanks

Peter

I used to get the "Conversion from string to type 'Double' is not valid" error all the time, and it was because I was concatenating Strings and Integers with the plus (+) sign. It turns out that the plus sign works only when your concatenating strings only. You need to convert variables of other types to string before using the plus sign on them. Or simple, just use '&'.

Dim fiveInt as Integer = 5
Dim fiveStr as String = "five"
Dim response as String

response = fiveInt + fiveStr                ' Won't work
response = fiveInt.ToString + fiveStr   ' Works
response = fiveInt & fiveStr                ' Works too

I hope this was of any help. I'm assuming, of course, you're working with Visual Basic.

This certainly seems worth investigating. I am hoxever only using standard modules and haven't done any customising. I am beginning to think that the skin may be the cause of the problem.
