I am having the same problem but mine is the parent class.  I created the forum with the HOST user.  Is this somehow making it so they can't post.  I have searched everywhere for the answer.  I made all of the users trused and even added the rols to the allow to edit.  Only host and superusers can post.  The other users don't even have the option.  I have gone through every setting I can't figure this out.

It's work. Finnaly I did it, but I have to configure in module settings (change the Edit Settings to the role that you want to post). So, why I would configure the forum settings if it won't work?

Please read the user documentation available for download, it clearly explains all of this. There are also at least 10 other threads on this topic if you look over a few pages of this forum's threads.
