Heres my problem,

When I installed the DNN on our server I used the "Default" website as the main site root (ie did not create a virtual directory in the "Default" site). Now that I want to run a seperate installation of another DNN installation, I am not too sure how to go about it.

Can I create a virtual directory under the first DNN installation or do I need to create a whole seperate site altogether. I am wanting the two installations to use seperate databases (do they also need to use seperate App Pools as well).

Wasnt in the planning to run two seperate installs of DNN, but boss wants it done that way so I am hoping that it is possible some how.....?

DotNetNuke supports the multiple portal installtion with signle DB and directory. for multiple parent level installations you need multiple virtual directory pointing to the same directory. After creating the virtual directory you need to create the new parent portal from the Portals menu under the host tab.

You can also create different DB's and virtual directories for different installations of the DNN.
