why there is no an avatar function in the integrated forum module?

in the normal forum, we always see a picture under the username, it's very pretty. but I don't see it here...

I'm wondering why?

actually there is, but avatars on this forum can only be set by admins

thanks for your reply.

I have created a DNN app at local pc, and I have installed a forum in a page. first, the problem is the avatar function is disabled, I thought it must be there's no gallery installed in the system. so I downloaded one and installed it... the function is enalbed now, but when I try to upload a plic as my avater, it seems working fine. when I write a post in the forum, it didn't show my avatar... I tried to figure out what happend, so I return to the profile settings page, there is no any value set before there.....

any ideas?

I have the same problem - have installed gallery, allowed avatars in the forums settings, uploaded it, and it's not there.  The avatar does exist in the forum->forumavatar and forum->systemAvatar galleries.  Just like Skyover's case, when I go back to the user settings for the forum, it shows nothing in the avatar space.

My name is Dan, one of the site administrators for www.iamtheoutdoors.com site.  We have run the gallery wizard and both gallery and smileys are enabled.  In my User Settings within Forum I can upload an Avatar image into the gallery, but it does not appear when I post a thread to the forum.  When I go back to my User Settings its gone, nothing appears.

Appreciate any help.
