All

Just thought I would provide an update.  after upgrading to 3.3.7 I lost the ability to change views and view details. I tried everything, uninstall, physically deleting tables, procs etc. reinstall, uninstall. nothing worked. The odd thing is that I was able to install the old version and it works fine. So thats where I am right now -- with the old version. I miss the features of the new verions!!

any ideas? could this be a dll conflict with other modules?  I really need to figure this out. Any suggestions as to how I might diagnose this.

other modules: magic.news, grlinkcombo, repository, flashimage rotator, ucanuse user attributes, modulewrapper.

help!!!!

Thanks for listening.

Usually, when an error like this occurs, I fall back to a vanilla DNN install.  Install the module that has problems (in this case Events module).  Then, make sure it works....  After this, start making changes (including adding other modules on your site), testing each time the original module that had problems and each new change (recursive test)... More than likely, you will find that there's a module or change on your site that does not play well.  I can assure you that the events module has been farily well scrutinized and made it through Beta Testing and the DNN Release process.  We had to make several changes in order to support the testing....There are a lot of modules out there that one can install...however, there are only a few that have been used by a lot of folks and stood the test of time.

I just posted a reply to someone else issue that they couldn't edit.  After reading this thread, I checked and I can't view details, other views, etc.

My installation is DNN 3.3.7 and i had Events 3.02.00.  It worked fine except an issue with printing.  I could view al details, edit items, etc.

We tested this on our development systems to ensure it didn't lose the events and it seems fine.  But, we didn't test if we could see details or edit.

We upgraded and sure enough, we have the same issue as listed here.  Can't view details, can't edit exisitng items.  if we create a new event, it appears fine until you try to view detail or edit it.  Nothing. Nada.

I'm not sure how the view controls at the bottom are supposed to work, but they just refresh the screen as well without changing the view.

From our programming experience with DNN, it seems these events(view, edit) may have an extra 'navigate(url)' somewhere they aren't supposed to.

Don't know if this is the case with DNN 4, haven't tested on it yet.

We will look at the code to see if we can help!  But a second look would be appreciated!!

Thanks

Bob
