I am using DNN 3.2.2 and had the same error.

The problem is in the repository settings: in the default configuration, the folder for Approved Files is the same for Unapproved Files. Changing one of the locations solves the problem for new uploads, which will use these settings. As for previously uploaded files, they will have to be uploaded again.

By the way, how can I change the settings to disable moderation to the uploaded files?

Thanks. Best regards.

Thanks for the info Steve.  There is something that's not working though.  Here is what I did.

Logged in as a regular user, uploaded a file.
Checked the repository web page, DB table and file system, everything was there.
Logged in as Administrator, approved the file
Checked the repository web page (fine), DB table (fine), file system (file is gone, image for file is still there)
On the repository web page, click to download, get the permissions error.

As mvale and I said, making the folder for unapproved or approved items different fixes the issue.

MVale, Steve stated in another thread that the unmoderated uploads funtionality wasn't working and it should be fixed in the next release.  I hope that also fixes the problem that users can't update/modify there uploads. (get a blank content page when they click the little pencil)

BTW, thanks for the awesome module.

Quick question.

I installed DNN 4.0.2 with Repository 03.01.08.

As admin, I uploaded a file "test.txt" with with content "Hello." The upload was a success.

Again as admin, I download the "test.txt." The download was a success.

When I open downloaded file , the content of file is modified. The content now includes...

Hello
<html>
<body>
<center><br><br><br><span id="Unauthorized">You are not authorized to download this file</span></center>
</body>
</html>

HTML code is inserted. Possibily by Root/DesktopModules/Repository/Downloader.aspx. But isn't this supposed to pop on the a browser and not write to the file you are downloading?

I have tried making the file read-only so either the DNN wouldn't change it but no luck. I tried playing with all the permissions. The original file in Repository folder is untouched. The modification only happens with the file which was download by user. This happens with all the extension I tried (html, xml, txt, exe, jpg)

Thank you

The same thing is happening to me here... http://www.dotdesk.com/portal/Downloads/tabid/177/Default.aspx

Also when I am logged in as an administrator I can can not even edit a previous entry.  Clicking the edit link returns a page with no modules on it.

Can anybody help me out here?  This is making me look very bad.
