I can't believe it.

When the 4.4.1 install package was released, DotNetNuke forgot 5 critical assemblies (dlls) in the packaging.
See my previous thread: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/110779/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Now in 4.5.0 install package, I see that the
DotNetNuke.Caching.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.dll
and
DotNetNuke.Caching.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.SQLDataProvider.dll
files are missing AGAIN!

Is this caching provider still supported (it still shows as an option in the web.config)?  If so, is there going to be an official hotfix this time, or are we just going to have to deal with it again?  Please don't leave out assemblies in the packaging process.

Wow,

you sure know how to make friends here, no need to shout....

I can see in the dotnetnuke.build file that these DLL's are specifcally excluded from the install and upgrade package :

<exclude name="${bin.dir}/DotNetNuke.Caching.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.dll" />
<exclude name="${bin.dir}/DotNetNuke.Caching.BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.SQLDataProvider.dll" />
<exclude name="${bin.dir}/DotNetNuke.XMLLoggingProvider.dll" />

As for the reason why, I don't know either.

You can get the missing dll's from the source package.

Sorry about the shouting :), but it is just so frustrating to see this.  I get the impression that these assemblies are left out to try and reduce the number of dlls loaded into memory (part of the performance boosting).  But, the problem is that for people making new installs, and trying to switch to BroadcastPollingCachingProvider, they have to go and dig the file out of an older build.  Since this is a part of the core framework, at least the assemblies could be loaded somewhere in the package under a folder called "AlternativeResources" or something...?

Sorry,

I just edited my previous post, so you might have missed it.

You can get the missing DLL's from the source package if you wish to enable them in web.config.

Ok, makes sense... I suppose... but still would like to be able to have the dlls somewhere in the install/upgrade packages in the future...
