Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

The "Page Cannot Be Shown" message. Was it the usual 404 type error page you see everywhere on the internet or was it a DNN page? If it's a DNN page it makes sense because when a user logs in or out they're redirected back to the page they were on. I don't know if the Core team took into consideration what should happen if a user logs out while on a page that they have to be logged into to see (they should probably be redirected to the Home page). What I tend to do is make all pages visible to all users and then apply security at the module level. Then I'll put a Text/HTML module on the page viewable by unauthenticated users only that tells them they have to be logged in to see the page and then the modules that they need to see are setup so that only Registered Users (or whatever group needs it) can view them. See http://www.bus.nait.ca under Computer Problems and I: drive to see what I mean. It's not an ideal situation and I can see the day when it won't work for me (my staff want a Forum for them alone and I sure don't want the students to even know there's such a thing available).
