Hi All,

I'm getting the same exception, as described earlier in this thread, after an upgrade from 4.4.1 to 4.5.1 only my problem is very different. The site was operating fine for a few hours after the upgrade, then all content would not show when you were logged in as host. Log in under a restricted user or site admin and the content is still there. Don't log in, and everything is fine.. Go Figure??

Ive looked at the web config and those lines mentioned above were not present. Adding them did not help.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Dan

It's fixed now... I went through the web.config file and painstakingly went through it line by line and added the necessary lines.

After that it's all good for now.

It appears that adding the second block of blue to my web.config fixed this issue for me.  The first block was already there.

I did not receive any errors when upgrading to 4.5.1, so I'm wondering why these were missing from my web.config.

The reason is becasue the web.config file does not get upgraded.  You may have configured your web.config very specifically, and I feel they leave this for the HOST to sort out.

Thus after upgrading I would reccommend installing the new version into a "fresh" test environment then compare the web.config files.

This is how I managed to find what was missing out of mine.

Maybe in the future upgrade can "add" missing configuration within the web.config file.

Someone in another thread mentioned the WinMerge program.  I tried it out, and it works really-really slick when comparing two copies of the web.config file.
