Machine keys from previous web.config were copied and pasted in release.config

renamed  release.config to web.config, deleted web.config which comes along with the zip file of DNN 4.5

When I triggered the browser ,everything went well except it wont allow me to login right now with my admin or with my host password. It asks me to update my profile with required fields( Ichanged it when I first logged in i.e after upgrading it to DNN4.5 it allowed me to login, I changed the settings for user accounts and  I logged out, after that  I am not able to login back) donno why, I need some help on this.

Thank you,

Ro

I have figured out where it went wrong, I have flagged a required field but didnt turn it visible, when user/admin/superuser enters the details, the new  required field(added from the user details property) isnt visible, the profile is not updating since it required the invinsible required field to be filled,

Now the problem is how should I change or disable the required field or how to make it visible?

I tried to change some settings in install.zip/install/useraccount config file, but its not reflecting in the website, any help or suggestion would be great in this regard.

After several hours of frustration, I had an idea to manually delete a row from the DataBase which has the unwanted profile column( from the profile definition table) and I triggered my websites URL in the browser, I didnt workout, nothing was reflecting then, but when I tried to change the name of the database( just deleted the last letter) and then triggered it, it displayed the installation wizard which comes along with DNN4.5 , I changed it back to the actual name(data base ) then when I trigerred everything was normal, it was a simple thing but it took a lot of time to atleast figure out  what went wrong.

Thanks for your support

You can modify it in the database directly.

The profile properties are stored in the table ProfilePropertyDefinition.  The name is stored in the PropertyName field and there is a Required field that indivates if a property is required.

You can simply update Required from 1 to 0 for the vield that is not visible, or you can set the visibility (Visible column) to 1 instead of 0.  Either option will work

As always, I do not guarantee this solution and please exercise all caution necessary when updating the database directly!
