Hi, I've 'inherited' a custom module that implments a complex job application form. The captured data is stored in its own tables - NOT the DNN membership tables.

I want to modify the module so that a DNN User is also created when the form is submitted. This is a straight forward process until it comes to the DNN Password. I want a random password to be created - just like when and Admin creates a new user and selects the random password option.

So my question is how do I access the DNN functionality that generates the password from the Keys held in the web.config?

I've searched the source code but it seems all the password stuff is rolled up into the 'UserController' object(?) - I'm on the limits of my knowledge here! If I'm on the right track can I do something like:

UserController.ChangePassword(User, null, <random number>)

Any help and/or alternative solutions greatly appreciated.

DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GeneratePassword();

That's what I use to make a random password. :)
