No, I misunderstood your answer. That explains why dev.dom1.com didn't work. It wasn't the name of the domain the site was authenticating to.

No Mike, let´s see... we are in the middle of a misunderstood...

The first domain named dev.dom1.com (that was the name the active directory users and computers administration console shows) i didn´t work, so... i try to create another domain named dev.dom1 (that was the name the active directory users and computers administration console shows), and it worked!

So... all the posts that i posted in all these days were about dev.dom1.com. The last think that i could do was creating a new domain without a complex name (i refer to a domain name withou sons)

I hope i´m being clear

Ooooohhhhh  now I get what you did. I'll have to do some testing to see if I can recreate that. I know in earlier versions I didn't have any problems with longer domain names but something may have changed since then.

In the second page of this forum you can see a post where i talk about the code where where the exception occurs... in the method NetWorkStatus. There is for sure where dnn treats the ldap name... ask for anything you think i can help you.
