Fresh DNN 4.01 setup reports:

Error: Windows Authentication is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.ADSI.Utilities.AddADSIPath(String Path, Path ADSIPath) at DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.ADSI.Utilities.GetRootEntry(Path ADSIPath) at DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.ADSI.Utilities.GetRootEntry() at DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.ADSIProvider.GetNetworkStatus() at DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationController.NetworkStatus() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Authentication.AuthenticationSettings.cmdAuthenticationUpdate_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Admin\Security\AuthenticationSettings.ascx.vb:line 129 --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any ideas where to begin troubleshooting this?

1. Check your user name format:   DOMAIN\yourusername
2. Check that your password is correct
3. Leave Root domain blank
4. Uncomment the line in your web.config
   <httpModules>
      <add name="UrlRewrite" ....
      <add name="Exception"...
      <!-- add name="Authentication"...  (uncomment this line)

I get this error whenever i leave the root domain blank.  I uncommented the line in the web.config and saved.  I still don't know what to do.  Any help would be awesome!
