as i see it, since dnn can't really follow up on many modules that the community needs, the community creates their own for the betterment of their work. the sad part is, they commercialize it so much and there are very few free modules out there. sir mitchel said they will get a quiz module done in around 4 months. maybe we could wait for it. and I hope it comes sooner, many need it.

makkabokka:

OK, the menu visibility is now resolved so, here is how it works, and how we are using it...

Quiz Reports and Editing of Quizzes is restricted to the user who created them.  We setup one user account just for managing the quizzes.  That user account is used to create the quizzes and manage them, and of course see reports of of other users who have taken them.

There are a few nice features...
~ the ability to have a certificate printed at completion.
~ Many question types, and all questions at one, or one per page.
~ a collection of questions and a random selection of those for use
~ more

I suggest you check out the trial version to see if it meets your needs.   http://www.activewebsoftwares.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=97&Tabopen=7

I have no affiliation with them, but had some requirements, that no other existing module had, so I bit the bullet and made the purchase.  I would have liked 2 changes, but they quoted me about $500 for them, and I have not moved forward on that part.

1 - add email field to quiz maker to allow an email notification to go to specific user(s) when a quiz was passed.
2 - change Role Security so anyone who has 'edit' rights can create a quiz and also report on ANY quiz regardless if they created it.

$188 wouldn't be so bad if the module was better designed and had better docs. The UI is wonky and there are some quality issues. Some of the admin functions don't work with FireFox. When I first tried it out I found 2 bugs right off the bat. The author fixed them, gave me a discount when I purchased. The discount made it worth the purchase. I needed it right away for a client. There are still some bugs that I've found that haven't been fixed.
