whenever i try to open the wite i got this error message

"An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:\DotNetNuke\App_Data\Database.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share"

what is this?? what does it mean ?? and how do i solve this??

this is a rather common issue with SQLExpress and auto-named instancing.

Download the SQL Server Express Utility (SSEUtil.exe) from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=fa87e828-173f-472e-a85c-27ed01cf6b02&displaylang=en

Then run:

sseutil.exe -d C:\DotNetNuke\App_Data\Database.mdf

Now you can launch your site again and SQLExpress should be able to attach the db.

ok thx for the reply but i can't solve the problem and i managed to reinstall the dotnetnuke but Can I attach the previous database upon this fresh installation??

anybody... can someone help me??

this time i got error message :

"Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'EXO-08\ASPNET'. "

i dun know what really happen....but i dun do anything with the configuration.... but this one often happen....

it's really frustrating..... is it SQLServer or DotNetNuke config that causing this problem??
