 Hi,

I just upgraded from 4.3.7 to 4.5.1. Did everything as usual: backup, overwrite, modifying web.config (connection string, machine keys:  validationKey and decryptionKey, objectQualifier) and browsed the dnn for upgrade. I got the error shown below, but was told in this forum not to worry. I tried  this two times, and after some time I'm not able to log in to dnn with any of the users.

Any idea why? And how to fix this?

Thanks!

I'm having the same issue, but when upgrading the starterkit (dnn435). I also have this log file stating the same file as you have.

The upgrading process seems to work allright (except for the error). After that when i try to access my portal it just seems to time out and i'm unable to access my development area. I have tried different upgrading paths from my 435 to 436, 437, 440 ,440, 441, 450 & 451.

In the versions 436 & 437 i'm not having the above mentioned error (since that occurs in 440). But still i'm not able to access my development area and that timing out occurs. After that i'm unable to get access to my site. Event rebooting my pc doesn't help.

When i just install the 451 starterkit i'm not having any problem whatsoever. But this means i would have to recreate my custom build modules & database tables.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Marc

Hi,

Having same problem - forum yesterday under object not found in Install it.

Can not log in as admin or a new created user (though if I create a new user, get error and then Back in browser, user is logged in).

Yes I am getting an error in the url string (custom errors = Off does'nt show asp .net error for some reason)

Error is:

http://mysite.org.au/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=C%3a%5cInetpub%5cwwwroot%5ctestweb3%5cAdmin%5cControlPanel%5cIconBar.ascx.vb(108)%3a+error+BC30451%3a+Name+'optMode'+is+not+declared.&content=0

It appears to be a IconBar.ascx problem.

Hope this helps in finding the problem.

Hi,

The first time i didn't pay attention to modifying machinekey etc. in web config and after the upgrade i got the "wrong password" message for every user, so i simply couldn't login, though i knew the passwords were good.

Second time i repeated the upgrade process, did the web.config modifications and for i while i could login  as usual. But after a time i got the "this user is locked out" message, and some time later again the "wrong password" message.

After re-upgrading again dnn works correctly, but I'm worried about upgrading my production site, because it might have the same error again.

Thanks!
