Hi there,

I have installed my dnn in centain SQL server and the corresponding web server.

Now I need to move the site to an other web server. I copied the entire dnn folder to the new server and create the virtual directory. But when I try to logon I am redirected to the old web server. What do I need to change or configure in order to have this working ?

Thanks in advance for the help you can provide.

Nunga.

You will need to update the portalalias for your default portal.  You can see the entries for this in the PortalAlias table within the db.

I've had the same problem. Copying the files even after adding a portal alias for the new URL just redirects back to the original location of the site. If I delete the original location in the DB then I get an endless redirection loop.

Any other possible solutions?

Thanks.

Are you 100% positive that you have the correct URL pointing to your new location entered as the portal alias?

Are you using a non-standard port?
