On my home page, I have a text module at the top of the page and I have a custom module I created, which has a link to another control in the module using the following:

editurl("", "", "ShowArticle", "");

When I redirect to the page using Response.Redirect(editurl, true), the page displays but the text module at the top does not display. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong?

thanks!

I'm assuming you're URL now looks something like /ctl/ShowArticle/ or perhaps ctl=ShowArticle, if that's the case what you're doing is telling DNN to load a specific control, and ONLY that control on the page. Any other modules on the page won't show up.

That must be it. I have an article showing on the main page with a read more link and some other links to different views. so, i created a seperate view control and use the navigateurl to pass in the control name and article id. am i approaching this incorrectly?

Not incorrectly, you're just not approaching it the way you want your module to function. That's kind of the normal DNN way.

If you're looking to have your content display in the same place on the current page, I'd look at using a placeholder and having your module load other controls, perhaps your listing and view controls, based on query string parameters. That's the approach I take when developing a module that needs to load content but still maintain content in the rest of the modules on the page.

I decided to add another page and add my module to that page and use the navigateurl. here is my following code but the page is coming up empty.

Globals.NavigateUrl(65, "ViewArticle", ""); // 65 is hard-coded here for the tab.

I have a view control with a key of ViewArticle. I can't figure out what is going on here?
