I was unable to find this specific issue for this particular version of DNN addressed in the forums so there it goes.

I am able to export a portal with content without any errors.  My sites use only the Text/HTML (some use SOLPART MENU) module and graphically heavy skins.  When I import I get the following errors:

Test.template is not a valid Portal Template File.

When I go through and eliminate all these xml conflicts I end up with a skeleton site that contains only the modules from the exported site and a new error:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/13/Skins/Test/Test.ascx Error: The file '/dnn/Portals/13/Skins/Test/Test.ascx' does not exist.

So, how do I fix this?  And, what is an exported template?  Does it contain all the content (if that box is checked) AND the skin?  Or is it more of a skeleton without a skin.

Need to get this working very soon to demo to a client.

Thank you!!!

Oh, you could also upgrade to 4.5.2, it is supposed to be fixed in that version.

Thank you!   Your fix worked beautifully.   I still have this error when importing a template though:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/14/Skins/Testt/Test.ascx Error: The file '/dnn/Portals/14/Skins/Test/Test.ascx' does not exist.

1) I click on Export Portal Template (works now with your fix)

2) I click on Add New Portald

3) Select child, select my exported template from above fill out all the other necessary information and click on Create Portal

4) New portald is created with all the proper content but the above error appears in red at the top of the page.   Does the skin also get exported as a part of the template?   This what I would like to have happen.   Is there are fix for this error?

I will also try upgrading to DNN 4.5.2

Thank you so much!
