Hi everyone

I have just started on dotnetnuke and Im having a little trouble at the moment with the modules that I try to add not working correctly

I get the message "Unhandled error loading module"

Here is how I carried out the install..

~ First off I installed the latest version of dotnetnuke onto SQLexpress 2005
~ Unfortunately the installation hung and would not install everything and I read that this was a problem with the combination of database and the latest install and the solution was to install a previous version and then upgrade.
~ So i started again and installed version 4.3. something successfully onto SQL express
~ Then I copied the upgrade files to the latest version into my site root and ran the upgrade copying the connection string and machine key from my old web.config
~ Finally I had to change the portalalias from localhost to get it functioning correctly externally
~ Everything seems to be functioning correctly apart from this module error and I have run the admin wizard as suggested in one forum with no success.

Any help would be appreciated if someone knows what might be wrong ;)

make sure, both (uncommented) connection strings in your web.config are identical.

Thanks Leupold..

There is one for <connectionStrings> and one for <appSettings>

ConnectionString referes to an SQLexpress database and appSettings refers to database.mdf that comes with the site.

If I change the appSettings string the site breaks and I expect I should have had them the same from the original install.

Should I be starting again from scratch?

Thanks for your help

please make sure, both are identical, if you can login, it is most likely, that the second string is not correct.
