Now that we have enabled windows authentication how do we start accessing Active Directory to restrict content users see based on the AD groups that a user is a member of?

You need to setup Security Groups in your DNN install that match the Groups the users belong to in AD. When the user first logs into the site they'll be added to the matching group. Then you can restrict content based on the Security Group.

So if I understand correctly each time a group changes in Active Directory the same group in DNN will need to be updated as well?

Will DNN update the Security Role group automatically if the Active Directory Group updates outside of DNN?

So in DNN I need to set up all the Active Directory Groups under the Security Roles or is there some other way of doing this?

Well...... in theory no you shouldn't have to manually update the groups and right now it depends on how users are logging in. If you're using automatic logins then they won't be sync'd anytime there's a change but if you're using manual logins and download the AD Fix from http://dnn.gmss.org (not yet updated for DNN 4.5.2) they will be.

Initially you have to setup the AD Groups under Security Roles manually. There's no automatic process for doing this.
