The cookie (2 of them) are specific to the module instance.  What document are you reading that specifies there is a limit to the number of temp cookies?  I have not seen this limit...

This is from Microsoft Support and is specific to IE

Article ID : 306070
Last Review : May 18, 2007
Revision : 3.1

If a Web application uses more than 19 custom cookies, ASP session state may be lost. Internet Explorer 4.0 and later versions allow a total of 20 cookies for each domain. Because ASPSessionID is a cookie, if you use 20 or more custom cookies, the browser is forced to discard the ASPSessionID cookie and lose the session.

Don't know if this is an issue of number of cookies or cookie size but it would certainly explain why my logout problem occurs after hitting multiple pages over and over again.

Uploaded a new version of the 3.3.8 events module to my site this morning (www.avanced.net).  We found a minor issue in the List View and fixed several localization issues.  Also, made changes to the way cookies were being used.  This version has been re-submitted to the DNN Module Release program.

I used Cookie Collections to ease the issue w/the number of cookies being used. The reason we are using cookies is that "Session State" is disallowed by DNN Modules.  Also, the DNN Personalization feature does not work for Anonymous Users...we will submit a change request for this and in a future version use DNN Personalization to replace the cookies.

Hi Alan

FYI

Had a chance to upload the new beta and still have the problem with cookies. I put a trace on and here are the cookies generated as a result of navigating to pages with the events module on it.  Of course I am assuming it is related to cookies -- if anyone has another thought, please let me know. As you can see as soon as  get to around 18-19 cookies - I get logged off. witout fail.

Ok...so in the new version I am using a Cookies Collection.  I can tell you for each module instance, we create exactly 3 cookies.  However, all the cookies for all instances are now submitted using exactly 1 collection.  Using the microsoft method you posted earlier....NOTHING else will be done w/this until there is another alternative that allows DNN Developers to use Anonymous Personalization, as I've already been gigged about using Session State...so basically, there are no other per user real good alternatives at this time for DNN project leads!
