Just a guess but it sounds like IIS is not configured properly and he is infact getting prompted for a Windows username and password... Make sure anonymous users is enable for your IIS site.

Well....Continuing to get login requests, I made a change to IIS and used the ASPNET account in place if the anonymous account listed there.  And I used integrated security=sspi in the control string. Since this install is going to be for developing, and is local to my system, these settings allowed DNN to install and run the wizard. The next task is to install DNN on what will be are new web server.  I hope that this install will go easier.

Some of the above suggestions were very helpful.  Now that I have a working DNN site, I hope that the rest of the DNN experience goes a lot smoother.  Thanks for the help, and sorry fot the previuos venting.  I still believe that installs should be much easier.

I am glad that you are up and running.  I fully understand that the installation can be very complicated if you are not well versed with ASP.NET, IIS, and SQL Server.  It is one reason that I have created the install guide that I make available on my website as a method to try and help with the installs.  If you are working on a clean install you might start by looking at my guide as you go foward on your next installation.  I would hope that at sometime in the future DNN could incorporate a guide like mine into the actual documentation for the framework
