James great find.  I made the changes and got rid of a lot of the errors.  I also found them in a few more places;

components\providers\scheduling\schedulingprovider.vb
provider\caching\filebasedcachingprovider.vb
Gallery\Components\Configuration\Config.vb
Gallery\Components\Upload\UploadCollection.vb

One side benifit is that the whole site now seems to run faster.

Hi,

Could one of you please provide the changed files? I guess those are compiled. I see stabilization version 4.0.3 is been registered at support.dotnetnuke.com, so the official fix is probably close.

With kind regards,
Bonavox

Any idea when these will be available? I'm trying to update a couple of sites and it's gone beyond frustrating having to work around this issue. At the moment I'm having to run DNN2.1.2 and DNN3.2.2 at the same time because I can't move from 2.1.2 to 3.2.2 because of it. It's actually bad enough that I'm seriously considering dumping 3.2.2 for the time being and starting several sites from scratch on 2.1.2 again and leaving it for a good few months before attempting with the next DNN3 version. Considering there's a good couple of month's work there that shows how serious I consider this. If I had the ability to recode it myself I would, but unfortunately I don't have that luxury here.

I would but I don't know how it would effect you later during an upgrade or something.  I guess it's something I'm willing to risk but don't want to get blamed for.  :)

I totaly agree with you Adeian, but this is getting more and more important for me as the site grow in size. Do this only apply to a small group of users, or everybody using 4.0.2?. Apart from getting errors from the core modules, it seems like many of my third party modules (like NewsArticles) inherits the bug.  I get an extreme amount of errors when I manage my site, I have tried to log every one of them but I've given up.

But I got a release of the site in April, so I can wait until a new, hopefully fixed version of DNN appears.

With kind regards,

Bonavox
