Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows what system www.vitalvotes.com is running. It is very slick, it appaears to a combination of a blog, article management system and discussion forum. The system has a rating system, user comments with ability to respond to a particular users comment, friendly url's, avatars, and other features as well. The user registration is also worth a look at as well.

If we were to try to add some of these features to DNN, does any anyone have comments on where to start?
Should it be an independent module, should it be part of the blog ? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like it is built using the XMod module.

I know there are a few "reviews & articles" templates for XMod, they seem to look pretty similar to the link you provided.

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

That is a Community Server site.  Although they has cleaned up some of styles and graphics, if you look at the underlying HTML you can see community server references sprinkled throughout.

Hi J, Thanks for the reply. If one wanted to add the rating features,  reader replies, etc to DNN. Do you have any suggestions what core module should be used as a base.  Its part blog, part forum, and user user profiles are used as well. It could be an interesting add-on to any page on a DNN site.

If there is interest in these features, we might be willing to make a separate module, or modify some of the code modules and donate it back. This would be a good addition to DNN. The pages on this site index well on the search engines and provide good interest for end users of the site. Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

The Repository module includes user comments and ratings. There are a number of Repository 'templates' that provide slightly different functionality, and the development of your own custom templates provides the abiltity to customize the look and feel as you wish.
