i've found plesk and dnn not to be the best of friends.. maybe its best to bump this to your hosting provider, as this is surely a setup problem of plesk

Thanks Erik :)
I'm not convinced of my providers knowledge of DotnetNuke. They do provide 3.2 which works fine, but my site has been based on 4.5.

So I'll give it a bit more and see what they say. I thought Plesk was ubiquixous enogh for there to be some general knowledge about its quirks. here's hoping they know something.
I'll let you know if I find out anything.

thanks again
Paul

well.. i used to use plesk myself untill i got my own servers... so i speak from some experience ;)

1: plesk does not allow modify rights for the asp.net workerprocess on the webroot (your provider needs to make adjustments from outside plesk). Some hosters force you to run dnn from a subdirectory

2: the plesk dns does not allow for multiple domains to be used on one website, with the exception to alias domains. Mind you: an alias domain is in Plesks' dictionairy a full copy domain. So you cannot have different email (mx) records for the domains..

Untill SW Soft changes these features, i would not recommend anyone accepting plesk as a control panel for dotnetnuke hosting

Ahh! the voice of experince.
What I would have know before setting up.
I'll go tallk to them.
Your first comments prove to be correct however.
I made some adjustments to ASPnet in plesk and as i have discovered it wrote all over my web.config file.
So it important to work in order - setting aspnet before uploading files-

So with egg on my face I will slly forth once more. :)

I'll let you know it completion.
Thanks
Paul
