I have DNN 4.3.x

<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="GenericError.htm"/>

I had another account under username 'dandrade', I deleted it and created this one.

WH4L told me to

You can encrypt your DB connection string in web.config. Please take a look "http://www.wwwcoder.com/tabid/68/type/art/parentid/258/site/6229/default.aspx" for details.

Strike that, is is 4.4.1 I have.

I'll try to reproduce error. Maybe forcing a disconnection, disabling DB I do not know. You should also know that when this happens DNN tries to do an install or upgrade. I have seen the messages.

What I would suggest is to keep the message as it is BUT, MASK DB NAME AND USERNAME. And add something like Contact Administrator, or send email to administrator. How about it?

Are you seeing this while RDP'd into a machine, or from a "remote" machine, which is showing custom errors?

Ok... maybe it is just me... but given the inflamatory nature of your original post I would have assumed that you would be running on the current, or near current version.  The error message you are talking about does not exist in the current version of DNN as far as I can determine.  I have conducted a complete search of the code and the resource strings and nothing remotely similar exists in the code.  So if you can reproduce in 4.5.3 then I would be interested, otherwise I would suggest you upgrade your version.

Fair enough. I will upgrade.

I was under stress thinking about an attack and the possibility of law suits or cancellations from several lawyers who would not be able to do research on a paid subscription service. I could not forget I had commented on this issue before.

Kindly disregard the nature of my post, as it is content  what meant to be important and if possible allow me to reduce font size for it tends to achieve advocacy by means of argument ad odium et iram. Forgive my flaming, it is only me burning.
