In upgrading from DNN 3.3.7 to DNN 4.05.03 using the upgrade .zip file, the font of the menu items on all pages chagned to a much larger font.  Further, the drop down shown when the menu item is clicked is tranparent.  The menu items displayed are correct, but are also in the larger font, and one must be careful to click on the text to activate the item.  Re-applying the skin to the page corrects the problem, but while that is easy in my 3 page test upgrade, it ain't going to happen in my 1,000 page production upgrade.  Has anybody seen the behavior before and have way to correct, or better, prevent it?

Oh Yes, remember to back everything up before upgrading.  I kept managing to forget a critical step the first few time I tried this -- of course I'm a DNN novice still.  (So remember to post using small words <G>)

I once had an installation where the dropdown menus were transparent and fonts were messed up. I've only seen this once out of many installs and upgrades so I think there might just have been some kind of glitch during the process which caused it. One thing you can try is to edit the version table of your database and remove the last line referencing version 4.5.3 which will allow you to reapply the 4.5.3 upgrade installation hopefully making the problem go away. I'm not sure it will work in your case but it's worth a try as long as you still have your backups to revert to.

Good luck,

Mike

So the pages loose their skin? Or is the skin still assigned to the pages?

I have the same problem, it is only the menu font there is wrong and there is on space between the items at the 1. Level. The dropdown menu background is transparent.

Do you now how to solve this problem?

The problem solve it’s self. I only added <add key="InstallationDate" value="13/07/2007" /> this becource it was the only thing from the installation guide I haven´t don yet. Then I restarted the application.
